Here it is, almost the end of May, and we've already had something like 16
workdays .  I am so excited by how everything is progressing - irrigation was
placed very early because we had compost placed in the fall - we
have new plants of blackberry (to replace the raspberries), strawberry
(to a new bed), and blueberry (a new addition). and all
are looking pretty good, though I don't expect to harvest much
this year - seeds are sprouting, some transplants are in, and mulching has begun.

Volunteer turnout has been heartening, and in fact we
had our first volunteer group today - 4 ladies from the Word of Faith church here in Southfield.
We have already taken some asparagus to Forgotten Harvest,
and we should be able to pick some rhubarb tomorrow
.
