I'm looking outside to more than a foot of snow covering the backyard -- I had to shovel pathways to the bird feeders! I counted 17 male cardinals after I filled them the other day, so the shoveling was worth it. it makes me think of the birdhouses Fred put up on the Farm fence a couple of years ago - we haven't have any residents yet, but I'm hoping we have a swallow or bluebird move in this spring.
I'm a bit behind on donation appeals and seed ordering because of health issues in January,
but will get on the program in the next few days. I spoke with a local
organic farmer last year about the possibility of him starting some of our tender seedlings,
so I have to get in touch soon.
Our kickoff meeting and 2015 workday schedule have been set, I have blackberry bushes
heeled in to my compost pile, and a box of red onions in the breezeway, waiting for
the opportunity to get them planted at the Farm.
